Chipotle, the US fast-casual chain, opened its first restaurant in Mexico this week

The U.S. fast-casual chain Chipotle opened its first restaurant in Mexico on Thursday, July 16, the company announced earlier in the week.

The location is in the upscale Monterrey suburb of San Pedro Garza García, in the border state of Nuevo León. It is part of a wider rollout across Mexico, with Chipotle’s first Mexico City restaurant planned for 2027, according to the company.
