Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum signed a new rule called a decree. This rule says that anyone who wants to be the president, a governor, or the mayor of Mexico City must have only Mexican nationality. This means they can’t have dual nationality (be a citizen of two countries). This rule will begin after 2027. Some people think this is unfair, like Senator Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas, who says it makes two kinds of Mexican citizens.

At the same event, Energy Minister Luz Elena González talked about electricity. She said the government wants at least 54% of electricity to come from public sources, meaning it is controlled by the government. They are investing a lot of money, over 1 trillion pesos, to make this happen. They also plan to increase the use of renewable energy (like solar and wind power) from 24% to 38% by 2030.

Finally, there was a plane crash in Nayarit, Mexico. The governor of Nayarit, Miguel Ángel Navarro, sometimes used this plane. Sadly, the pilot and co-pilot died. The government is checking if the crash was an accident and an investigation has been launched.
