| Buenavista Station | Mexico City’s central railroad station. |
A new train line has been opened in Mexico City! This train connects Buenavista Station with Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). This is great news for people traveling to and from the airport. The train makes the trip much faster and easier. It takes around 50 minutes to get to the airport, but soon it will be even quicker, just 43 minutes! Before, people had to take buses or cars, which could take up to two hours.
The train has six stops and can carry many people, more than 80,000 in a day. Right now, four trains are running every half hour, but soon they will run every 12 minutes. It costs 45 pesos to ride the train for the first month, which is much cheaper than taking a taxi.
President Claudia Sheinbaum was at the opening ceremony. She asked to name the train station at the airport after Clara Krause, the wife of Felipe Ángeles, an army general who the airport is named after. This new train is part of a plan to make train travel popular again in Mexico.
