A new permanent Cirque du Soleil show called LUDÕ is opening at VidantaWorld, a massive luxury resort complex in Nuevo Nayarit on Mexico’s Pacific coast. This is Cirque du Soleil’s second permanent show in Latin America and its first aquatic production since the famous “O” show in Las Vegas. The performance will take place in BON (Beauty of Nature), a 150‑acre theme park inside VidantaWorld that is still being developed as a high-end destination.
The theater itself is designed to be an icon of the park, similar in ambition to the Sphere in Las Vegas or the geodesic globe at Epcot in Florida. Its outer shell looks like a lotus flower and is built with about 3,500 tons of steel, glowing at night with projection effects. Inside, there are 696 seats around a 360‑degree aquatic stage, plus a “human aquarium” and a submersible platform that can quickly shift from a water tank to a dry stage.
LUDÕ tells the story of Ludovico, a theater director who searches for inspiration in water and play, starting his journey in a Mexican cenote and traveling the world through the show’s scenes. The 75‑minute performance uses underwater and freediving acts in an immersive environment, with artists performing above, around, and even below the audience. Depending on the season, the show can run up to 10 times a week and is scheduled to operate all year.
Vidanta already hosts JOYÀ, a long-running Cirque du Soleil dinner show in the Riviera Maya, and now aims to make LUDÕ another major attraction. The new show offers different experiences, from balcony-only seats to VIP packages with a three‑course meal, champagne, and preferred seating. Ticket prices range from 2,350 pesos (about US $128) for just the show to 7,780 pesos (about US $425) for the full dinner and unlimited champagne experience, reinforcing BON’s image as a luxury alternative to traditional theme parks with long lines and crowded spaces.
