Trichromatic Using three colors to create many different ones

A long time ago, televisions showed only black and white pictures. But a young Mexican man named Guillermo Camarena changed that. He was very curious and loved fixing and building things from a young age.

In the 1940s, Camarena patented a special way to show pictures on TV in color. He called it the “Trichromatic Sequential Field System.” This system used spinning discs in cameras and TVs to show red, green, and blue colors quickly, one after the other. Our eyes mix these colors, and we see a full-color image! Camarena was just 23 years old when he got the first patent for color TV in the world! Even though American companies wanted to buy his invention, he wanted Mexico to be proud and create cool technology on its own.

In 1963, Mexico became one of the first countries to broadcast TV programs in color. Camarena’s work made watching TV more fun and colorful for kids and families. Sadly, he died young in a car accident, but his invention helped show color pictures even in space! Thanks to him, color TV became part of homes all over the world.
