The President’s colorful message – Level 1

Did you know that a president can be famous for her fashion? The New York Times made a list of the most stylish people for 2025, and Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum, is on it! Most leaders usually wear plain grey or blue suits that look very serious. Claudia likes to do something different. She wears colorful dresses with beautiful embroidered flowers and shapes sewn onto them. These special clothes are made by talented artists in Mexican towns. By wearing them, she shows the whole world how amazing her country’s art is.

There is a big reason why she dresses this way. Sometimes, big stores try to copy these special designs without asking or paying the artists who invented them. Claudia thinks that is unfair. She wears the real dresses to support the people who made them. She wants to show that everyone should be proud of their traditions. She teaches us that your clothes can send a happy message about who you are and where you come from.
