Farmacias Similares, the pharmacy with the dancing mascot Dr. Simi, has started a new music project called Simisónico. These are small concerts recorded right inside their company office in Mexico City. The idea is to invite Mexican bands to play in an intimate space, just like the famous Tiny Desk concerts in the U.S.
The first show featured the rock band Enjambre, playing in front of a small crowd. While the receptionist kept working, a giant Dr. Simi doll sat at the desk, and someone dressed as Dr. Simi danced with the music. Videos of the concert quickly spread on TikTok and other apps.
Simisónico is preparing audiences for SimiFest 2025, a big music festival happening in November in Mexico City. Many groups will perform, including famous international and Mexican musicians. But SimiFest isn’t just about fun—it will raise money for projects that help the environment, like planting trees and cleaning nature.
This is one more way that Farmacias Similares wants to connect with young people, using music, culture, and social action.
